Floating Museum

Floating Museum

Floating Museum is an arts collective that creates new models exploring relationships between art, community, architecture, and public institutions. Using site-responsive art, design, and programming we explore the potential in these relationships, considering the infrastructure, history, and aesthetics of a space. Floating Museum is co-directed by avery r. young, Andrew Schachman, Faheem Majeed and Jeremiah Hulsebos-Spofford.

The arts collective will collaborate with the Museum Why network during 2022–24, contributing a series of symposia discussions and experimental formats that explore new ways of engaging with institutional practices. Alongside these interventions, the collective will produce a freeform publication entitled Floating Museum – Instruction Manual, serving as both a reflective document and an open-ended guide to the ideas and processes emerging from their practice.
